Chapter 5: A journey

Jane Eyre leaves her aunt, Mrs. Reed, and travels to a new school called Loowod. It was a school for poor girls. The rooms were cold, and the food was bad, and the breakfast was burnt and tasted bad. The girls were also very quiet and followed the rules. Here Jane meets a kind teacher named Miss Temple. She sees that the girls are hungry and gives them bread and cheese. Jane starts to like her very much. Later, Jane goes outside. It is cold, and the playground is small and gray. She talks to a nice girl named Helen Burns. Helen is smart and calm. She tells Jane about school and how to be strong and good, even when life is hard. In the afternoon, Jane sees Helen being punished by a teacher, Miss Scatcherd, but Helen does not get angry or cry. Jane is surprised and wants to understand Helen better.

PERSONAL OPINION

In my opinion, this chapter is very emotional, because finally Jane leaves this terrible house and instals to another. Also, Jane meets a nice people, like Miss temple, because she is kind and generous, because she is kind and gives the girls better food. I also like Helen Burns, she's a calm and strong, and also teaches these valours to Jane. I think Jane will learn a lot from her. This chapter shows that life is not easy for Jane, but she does not give up. I think she is a strong and good person.
